Michelle Bommarito Demo @ McCall's

Saturday, Michelle Bommarito did a 3 hour demo at McCall's. Soooo glad I went because it was 3 hours of jam packed information and tips. She covered everything from basics, like covering a cake with fondant, to swags, to the use of molds, cutters and tools in a myriad of ways.

Michelle is vary giving in what she knows, and I highly recommend taking one of her classes if the opportunity arises. She has a true desire for her students to learn and improve on both skill and technique.

Those who've signed up for Michelle's 3 day Vintage Suitcase class at McCall's, are lucky ducks. But word is Michelle will hopefully return for more classes. I'll pray to the cake gods that I'll be able to attend one.

What I took away from the demo:
  • Think outside the box when using tools, to take your designs a step further and to make them truly unique
  • Mise en place --- "have everything in place" and set up for what you are going to do (i.e. wedding cake, sugar flowers, baking, etc.)
  • Remove tools and clean as you go to avoid unnecessary clutter
  • Preparation and organization goes a long way to saving you time in the end
  • Love what you do and your passion will show through in your creations
